Geowarmth Heat Pumps invite you to a:

Professional Short Course: Tuesday 20th May 2008

"An Introduction to Ground Source Heating & Cooling"

Dunston Innovation Centre, Chesterfield, Derbyshire

Background

Ground source heat pumps are widely used for space heating, cooling and air conditioning in the USA, Canada and many European nations. Indeed, in 2001, around 90% of all new domestic dwellings in Sweden were reported to be heated by heat pumps, of which 75% were ground-sourced. The ground source heat pump market is expanding rapidly in the UK (over 100% per annum), with several design/install companies already established and attracting clients. A framework of grants is available within the UK to individuals, organisations and companies wishing to install ground source heat pump technology.

Five previous highly successful short courses were run in October 2005, March and October 2006 and May and November 2007 by Holymoor, JDIH and GeoWarmth, in Chesterfield, Alton (Hampshire) and Tyneside. These were each attended by over 30 participants from organisations as diverse as the Environment Agency, the Coal Authority, engineering and environmental consultants, architects Universities and heating / air-conditioning suppliers. The course has been provided as internal training to the Environment Agency and has been run internationally in Trondheim (Norway) and Milano (Italy). Due to demand, we are repeating the course at Chesterfield in the English East Midlands, and it is our ambition to attract a greater number of representatives of the architecture and building services sectors to this event.
